Tell City Council Speaker Quinn to Support Bicycle Building Access!Expiration DateExpiration Date: August 31, 2008

Link to the ActionRiding a bike to work is one of the most powerful acts a New Yorker can take for the environment. Unfortunately, most commercial buildings in New York City do not permit bicycles inside, impeding tens of thousands of would-be bike commuters. Intro. 38 is a long overdue, commonsense measure that would require office buildings to treat bicycles in the same way they do strollers and handcarts. Enabling bike commuters to park in basements, storage rooms and out-of-the-way office space is the biggest single way for City Council to grow bicycling in our City and support healthy, sustainable transportation. Tell Speaker Quinn to support a hearing on Intro. 38. To see a recent letter on the issue that T.A. sent to Council Members, click here (PDF). Link to the Action
