Car-Free Central Park Runs All Marathon Week

Once again, the loop drive in Central Park will be closed to cars during NYC Marathon Week Nov. 6-14. Every year the drive is closed for a week or more, but despite repeated requests from T.A., City DOT has never investigated or documented the effects on traffic in the surrounding areas. Could it be that there are no apparent ill effects-strong evidence in support of the two-month car-free trial that T.A. has long advocated?

Write to DOT and ask them to study the effects of the closure of the loop drive during NYC Marathon Week on traffic.
