Much of this region has been landfilled, making Coney Island more of a peninsula than an island. However, at the western end, theres enough of a drop in elevation to require bridges across it.
Stillwell Avenue Bridge
A large bridge with a concrete roadbed and sidewalks on both sides.
Cropsey Avenue Bridge
This is a small former drawbridge connecting Coney
Island with the rest of Brooklyn. There are good sidewalks on both
sides, and no stairs.
