InternshipsProspect Park Youth AdvocatesDo you love riding your bike, but get sick of dodging cars and trucks? Do you wish you could hang out in Prospect Park after school without worrying about speeding traffic? Are you tired of breathing air polluted by exhaust? Are you ready to do something about global warming? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of the above, it’s time to apply to join the Prospect Park Youth Advocate Team! This summer, Transportation Alternatives is hiring 4 young adults (Ages 15-18) to make real change in Brooklyn. We are looking for smart, motivated and passionate young people to help our staff develop a new youth campaign to reduce car traffic on local streets and finally eliminate car traffic on Prospect Park’s loop drive. As a Youth Advocate, you will gain leadership and public speaking skills, learn about your local government, become more connected with your local community, and help win cleaner air and safer streets in Brooklyn. Advocates will work between June and August of 2008 and will be paid $10/hour. Youth Advocates must be punctual, responsible and committed to the goals of this campaign. To apply, please send:
